Youth Justice Worker - HMYOI Wetherby

Post by DrTadWinslow » Sat Aug 01, 2020 6:52 pm

Hi guys,

I attended my ARC over a week ago at Wakefield. I passed all the assessments, and my score was 59 for Prison Officer, 60 for YJW. My concern at the minute is whether I scored high enough to be allocated a position at Wetherby. I'm on the merit list but I fear that my score is too low to be put forward for a Youth Justice Worker role. Does anyone have any experience with this? Like on average, how long did you stay on the merit list before being put forward for a position? And does anyone know how much competition there is for jobs at Wetherby? I really wanna get this job, especially now since we're heading for a recession, I want something stable, instead of doing odd security shifts. I don't wanna be in limbo for too long so if I can get assurance for some of you, I'd really appreciate that.

Thanks

I cannot help answer your question, but what I do know is that I have seen vacancies at Wetherby advertised quite often over the last 18 months.

Good luck with your quest to join the service 👍🏻🤞🏻

Interested to know how different the ARC for YJW is. Do they use child actors in the role play or adults acting as children?

Thanks Bearguy, as Tom Petty sang "The Waiting is the Hardest Part".

JCOX, when I did the role play for the YJW job, there was one guy who played a child that I had to interact with, and the second role play was with the child's mother. I'm not sure whether the child was a really young looking bloke though
