Eyesight test

Post by Catia1983 » Thu Jul 30, 2020 12:06 am

Hello everybody,

I have a doubt about the eyesight test because i have been everything, everywhere, and now i am not sure. I know they are not recruiting now due to covid, but i really wanted to try for it. So is the eyesight test with or without aid? Because my eyesight is very poor without, I'm near sighted, but i use contact lenses at work and glasses at home. With that my vision is normal. Please tell me that is with aid. Thank you guys.

Hi Catia1983,

I had a look back at the Assessment criteria and it reads this... Hope it helps ....

Can I wear glasses or contact lenses for the eye test?

We will test your vision in both eyes with and without glasses or contact lenses (if you wear them). We need to test your uncorrected vision, so this means that you will need to remove your contact lenses or glasses.

Please remember to bring contact lens solution if you will need to put your lenses back in.

So I’m really short sighted and struggled to read past the third line from the top without glasses and I still passed, as long as your fine with glasses then you should be fine, best to wear contacts on the landings so there’s no risk of getting glasses knocked off.

I always wear contact lenses, always, glasses annoy me a bit on the day to day, at home is fine, but for work is more practical. About the test, I'm almost sure i can't red the second line. I'm at least -7.50 in each eye. I know, it's bad. Oh well, i had my stressed out moment, now I'm just looking into ways to fix it. Thank you so much for your replies.

Also I'm beginning to think that my eyesight is the least of my problems, i applied to OSG to 2 different prisons, at least to get a foot in and then go from there and fix what i need to fix, so i did that online test skyrise city and failed yesterday and today and the funny thing is that in 24h apart my results are different, a bit contradictory. I'm all for being rejected if I'm not a good fit, i totally respect that, but after comparing results a day apart i don't think that test is that accurate. Well, let's see.

I didn't finish the last combination either, i only managed until the first number of the last combination, total of 16 numbers. The rest i don't think i did too bad, i mean, the electricity thing and the company one were a bit confusing but i didn't do it poorly, i actually managed to keep it balanced. The rest, well, it's supposed to be a challenge but i really don't think i did too bad and how can a programme that's telling me to pop balloons and memorize tiles have "opinions" about my personality, which are variable from one day to another? I'm not bipolar, at least not yet. 😁
