Merit Campaign

Post by Pelusa » Wed Jan 15, 2020 4:19 pm

Hello!
I have completed and passed successfully all assessments to become a Prison Officer and I am waiting for an offer. Because I applied under a Merit Campaign, I understand that jobs are offered first to the highest-scoring candidates. My score was 60 out of 80, an equivalent of 75% pass mark. What is the likelihood that I will get an offer with this score? Does anyone have any idea?
Thank you very much!

I've seen people with lower scores who are now onto vetting or further. I think it depends on what the other people who have applied for the same establishment have scored. From what they said, they work their way down the list based on the scores.
Applied 30/09/19
Online Tests 30/09/19
Results 01/10/19
Arc Manchester 21/11/19
Extra I.D. taken to be verified 12/12/19
Conditional Offer 15/01/20
Vetting Began 16/01/20
Vetting Passed 27/01/20
Start date 30/03/20

I did my RAD on 12/12/2020 and got a result of roughly 75% and have applied for Swaleside and Elmley, how long do you think it would be until the offer comes through, really just want to start!

@Ben1990 I was told we have to wait to receive an offer and be patient.
In my case, I applied in October 2019. My assessment was 19th Nov in ARC Croydon. Three days before going to Croydon, I received a call telling me that I cannot do the fitness test there. I was told to be on the lookout to book my appointment for the fitness test. Four days after Croydon I get the link to book the fitness test and all slots are taken!!! I was checking daily for slots to open until finally almost 5 weeks after, I get a slot for the 7th January 2020. Also, all the communication sent to me mentioned that I had "failed" the fitness test and this was a retake (!). Anyway, I took the fitness test at Grendon and they kindly told me: "Now you just have to wait, it takes time so just be patient". So, you might have to wait, hopefully not too much.
Congratulations on your score! That's awesome. I hope you get an official offer very soon.

I think from the few on here, a lot have been quite lucky lately in receiving conditional offers quickly. From previous threads, it's not always that quick. I think it depends on where you've applied and how quick they need officers. That being said, with a score like that I'm sure you'll be near the top of the list! Fingers crossed for you.
