Prison Officer UK Forum

Post by TheRealMe » Sat May 09, 2020 1:51 pm

Afternoon all :slby:

Seems a little quiet on here recently. I gather this is due to the current situation and it’s impact on recruitment. It is not, however, as quiet as the other online prison officer forum https://prisonofficeruk.proboards.com/

So I was wondering, does anybody on this forum use this forum or have you used it in the past?

If so, I’d like to know your thoughts on it...
•Did you find the forum useful?
•How do you feel the forum was ran?
•Why do you think the forum has fallen into disuse?
•Did you find the information you were looking for on the forum?
•Did you feel welcome on the forum by other members/admins?

As someone who’s used both forums, I’d be interested to hear other members thoughts...

:slty:

Strange :slch: I am still able to access the site but the most recent post is from mid January. How did you find the site when you were able to access it?

Haven't been on there before, havent really had a need to in all honesty as this forum has helped me out both when i was initially going through the recruitment processes, and now that i am back to going through them again.

I just tried to go on there though to see what it was all about, i created an account but now i cant get a login screen up, so at the moment im not overly impressed with them.

I think if we can get this forum rolling again as it once did, then it could holds a wealth of information and resources for both upcoming and current officers. Its just getting back to that stage

I think the reason things have slowed down recently us due to the recruitment/training freeze.
What I have seen from my time on this site is most questions that come up are around recruitment and training, with this not happening at any pace right now is potentially the reason for low posts ect.

Imo the other site (which I did use a couple of times when first started with the application process) is not as good as this one. The interface is not as user friendly and is pretty boring to use plus the fact it is currently broken lol.

Yeah your most likely right. Normally once in the job you use the site less and less I think, and it is predominantly to help the new and upcoming staff out.

Hopefully after this freeze it will resume to normality

Agree 100% gaboo. Fingers crossed with the new measures being introduced to get people safely back to work, we may begin to see things start to pick up on here.
