Re: Referred For A Decision

So I got an email yesterday asking me to book a virtual interview for an OSG job. The same prison as my conditional offer for prison officer.
Shares services said before you can apply for both roles, so I’m guessing the email was automatically sent to my account? Also as it’s the same prison I’d guess that the vetting would be the same?..

I’ve just had an email from sscl, heart sank. Turns out they were just reminding me that I’m still on the merit list 😂. 22 weeks in, not that I’m counting or anything.

No JCOX, still days referred for a decision. It’s said that since almost two weeks ago, and I’ve been in vetting 3 weeks tomorrow.
Maybe having trouble contacting someone?..

Clc83, mine said the same. Referred for a decision after a week of vetting. I’m five weeks into vetting and still hasn’t changed.
I don’t know if things are slower because of coronavirus and the checks are taking longer to come back, other than that I don’t know.

Been in vetting 9 days and one day at the referred for a decision status. I did ring HMRC and get all my dates, so they was bang on. So happy and waiting by the phone, for the call.

No idea JCOX, should I email or call anyone?..
I don’t want to fail vetting because of a reference discrepancy...
I was offered an OSG role at the same establishment last year and my information hasn’t changed since then.
Anyone know the best email address?

I emailed recruitment, apparently they are waiting for a reference to respond. They also said they don’t have a timeline but will be in touch shortly... not sure what that means but I’m kind of worried!
Especially as the job market is not great and I’m worried
about my future...

A couple of people have mentioned to me is a career change the right thing to do at the moment and I have had to have a rethink.
My thoughts are that you only live once!

I think you will be fine joining as long as you know you want to stick at it. Maybe it will harder to leave and get your old job back JCOX?

Also wouldn’t it be better it recruitment actually let us know they are having trouble with references rather than just failing people?! Maybe we could help?
I don’t see how it makes sense!
