Conditional Offer

Post by londonlad81 » Mon May 18, 2020 9:23 pm

Got two emails today, one after the other. One was a conditional offer, the second was a sorry to hear you’ve withdrawn your application! I was on the merit list for two prisons.
Now the vetting journey! Good to hear that things are still being done at the moment.

True, it has been a bit quieter than usual on here. I’m sure things will pick back up again once recruitment does.

Congrats Londonlad. Hope you got your first choice and the vetting flies by. I’m glad the cogs are still turning but I’m starting to think I didn’t make the cut with my choice. Here’s hoping it’s back up and running 100% soon!

Well second choice but it’s actually slightly nearer to me.
Going to do my vetting forms tonight, I’m not great with computers so have to work out how to upload my documents ( passport and utility bill) to my laptop!

Well I did most of it on my laptop. For the identification documents I took a picture from my smartphone and uploaded it from there. Then I saved it and logged off my phone and logged onto the laptop. Hopefully all will be ok with the pictures I took- driving licence, passport and a utility bill.

Thanks Bearguy. I wonder how long the vetting takes place? I remember when I joined before the vetting was all paperwork and had to be hand written.
I think they can check 5 years work from HMRC? I’m sure some establishments must be short staffed..

The general consensus on here is that vetting has been a quick process, myself included in that, I think mine was done in a fortnight, despite being told that vetting would be a minimum of 4 weeks 👍🏻
