Dale Cregan - what will his first weekend inside be like?

Post by bangedupnick » Sun Sep 23, 2012 10:17 am

I would imagine that many prison officers will have the same degree of contempt for this POS as every member of the police in Manchester, but I am sure he will be treated fairly by the staff of Strangeways despite that.
How is his first weekend likely to be run? Will he be allowed association with other prisoners? I guess he will be a category A prisoner, possibly high risk or exceptional risk?
What sort of security measures will be taken in his case (I am only asking for speculation here, as anyone who knows any facts should not mention them).
Will there be armed (police) officers inside the prison?
Personally I thought the many armed police at his magistrates court appearance on Friday was overkill. But maybe his associates really did post such a threat that it was necessary.

I am tempted to go along to Manchester Crown Court on Monday and try to get a seat in the public gallery. But I expect there won't be any spare seats there.

No.
Not that that makes any difference of course, because I am sure there are reporters scouring this forum in any case.
I am an ex-prisoner.

No disrespect mate but nobody in their right mind would post anything here relating to security measures in a prison, especially in this case.

Hmmmm kristorf, short, to the point, accurate character assessment. You've spent too long on the landings.

Definately agree with your assessment.

2 young women any father would be proud to call his daughters.

A thug any father would be ashamed to have spawned.

That anyone would use the word hero when referring to him even if sarcastically, shows how sad the times we live in are and how bankrupt of morals our society is.
Always remember; the law and justice; never the twain shall meet. They are seperate and have nothing in common with each other. Bit like being married!!

But I had also called him a POS - a "piece of s***". Is that clear enough to suggest that I don't like him?

Call a spade a spade, saves any misunderstandings that way, that's what I was taught in the Army and it's the same in this cesspit of a job really.

Possibly not. At the risk of stereotyping here, his father is / was probably a scumbag aswell.
