Is there a law that, if you as a juror, may have anything to do with a defendant, that you cannot sit as a juror on the case?! (conflict of interests and all that).
Surely he should have declared that he worked at the prison they were being remanded at? :slwott:

something to bear in mind if you are ever summonsed to do jury service.....

make sure the CPS know that you are a Prison Officer!

when the law changed a few years ago that meant Police Officers could suddenly be summonsed to do jury service the Police Federation advice was to turn up at court each day IN FULL POLICE UNIFORM

ive done jury service twice and jeans and t shirts were good enough,the usher advises you when you get sworn in is if you recogise him/her to let them know so you can be taken off the case (could be your next door neighbour until your in court)
