Personally, I thought the book was a good read. One sided, maybe, but he’s only sharing his story and his own experiences as an officer. His experiences and feelings towards the service will differ from others, but I’d happily read anyone’s story to gain their insight.

I’m three quarters of the way though his book now, like you say, it’s his own experiences, wether right or wrong, he is just bringing things into the spotlight a little.

Which is why I like his videos, there is nothing else like it on YouTube related to the prison service, well non I can find, if anyone has any other interesting videos then bang them on here 👍🏻

I watched something recently where he was answering questions from that Cody Lachey (ex prisoner). He always seems to offer a fair and honest assessment of life behind the walls. I’ll give the podcast whirl.

Hi guys

Lee who works in the real porridge podcast here, thought I'd sign up and say thanks for the support. I was googling mentions of the show, looking for feedback.

BearGuy thanks for giving us such a kind mention.

As for Sam being a sell out, it couldn't be further from the truth. He believes bad people should be locked up like the rest of us. But learnt from a long career that the bette prisoners are treated the better behaved they are and more likely to be rehabilitated. If that makes him a sell out, then yeah.i think a lot of firm but fair officers would agree with him.

He's thick skinned and doesn't care what most folk think of him and he doesn't know I've posted. But thought whilst I was here is put the other side across.

Anyone willing to come on the podcast and exchange stories? We're very accommodating.

All the best

Lee
