There must be quite a backlog too id imagine -- ive rejoined the Army as a Reservist, and I'm tempted to go back full time if I hear nothing from MOJ by Christmas.

I can’t get my head around why it’s taking as long as it is for things to start moving. Shops/pubs/gyms have reopened, children are returning to school shortly, holidays are permitted and workers told to return to work. All the above happened weeks ago, yet hmpps seem reluctant to return to some normality.

This whole thing is turning me off the job to be honest, I need the money and I'm sure most of you do, but my enthusiasm has definitely gone at the moment

Baffling isn’t it ?!

After my experiences I’m of the thinking that the MOJ doesn’t know their arse from their elbow, now, I’m not that keen on joining like many others aren’t.

Hi guys and gals,
Just reading some of your comments, perhaps HMPPS are waiting for a higher power to tell them to start again, suppose its just a waiting game like with everything to do with this pandemic.

Regards
Nick

The process was draining before Covid. I wouldn’t be surprised if Arc accreditation’s were further extended, but without informative updates/clarification around what is happening, it remains to be seen how long people will be willing to wait.

The 2 latest jobs don't say anything about covid restrictions, so assessment centres may have opened again. But how long that would take to materialise in an offer is another matter

That’s encouraging. It states that the ARC must be completed within 8 weeks of the application closing and these 2 are short lived so it would suggest assessment centres are open for business or are soon to be 🤔. The Covid update hasn’t changed from 20th July though...

The wait goes on :slwh:

I haven't had anything, even a generic email this week. What did it say?

This is what I recieved this evening.....

We hope to be contacting candidates within the next 2-3 weeks. We have not offered any new dates for that last few months so we do have a large backlog to clear.
We will be in touch as soon as we possibly can to arrange this. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.

 Kind regards

At least it has a time frame on it, I guess it is a direct response to your email

What email address are people contacting sscl on? The only one I've been given is a no reply email address :slm: my status changed to we shall be in contact with you shortly to discuss the next stage of recruitment. I'm guessing this means I've passed my vetting and I'm waiting on the call with my start date, but that was over a week ago... everything is slow with the prison service.
