No need for apologies, all quiet on here at the moment anyway.

Been back at my logistics job now for the last fortnight, it was great to get back into a routine again....got another 2 weeks off now because of a planned shutdown 😬 !

Anyone else back at work after a lay off ? How is your workplace adjusting to life with new restrictions ?

Just a waiting game, nothing can be done, lots of catching up to do.

I’m on a fortnight shutdown also. I’ve been back and forth between work, furlough and planned shutdowns for a few months now.

Hi All,

Just called up again and same story, everything is still on hold, the guy said he can’t really say anything else as he doesn’t know why starts dates are still on hold but can’t see it being too long now. Another 7 days to wait until my weekly Monday call 🙄🤣

Another week to wait then. If they are saying it won't be long then that must be a good sign. Didn't get a text saying they were still thinking of me last week, feel left out 😪

My texts are a bit hit and miss, sometimes I don’t get them, but they are in my portal. Is the updates only every Monday ?? Or can decisions be made mid week, does anyone know ??

I think it can be any day of the week usually

Just called you to check again, was told they might be allowed to begin giving out start dates this week, but nothing is 100%. The dates will only be given to the ones with contracts first, which is only right. So the wait continues..... anyone heard anything else??

Does a contract mean people that are already working there and awaiting training?

Yes it is the ones who had start dates and started as an OSG. They are getting training first and when they start, the ones who have passed vetting and awaiting start dates, will be rang.

Sweet. I think some prisons give people a month as an osg anyway, I'm not 100% sure, but I've noticed it on some old posts when I've been reading through

So realistically, those of us that are still waiting on start dates could be waiting a few more months ?

Looks that way guys, heard on the grapevine that prisons in the north of England were bombed out with trainee officers doing OSG duties as proposed by MOJ
