Would it be wise for a 18(soon to be 19) year old to join the prison service?

Right then. So at the moment, I am at college studying a level 2 health and social care course which i am not really enjoying, alongside retaking my maths and English GCSEs. The only reason I am doing it is so I can eventually get into the ambulance service. At the moment I am strongly considering putting in an application to the prison near me to become a prison officer, and if successful dropping out of college. I think i would have a lot more fulfilment and satisfaction from that than I get out of college. I think my main disadvantage of leaving college to do it would obviously be my lack of GCSE at a grade C in English and Math, which id have to do in evening classes.

Are there many young people under the age of 20ish in the prison service? The ultimate career goal for me would be something like the NTRG(in time) or a dog handler, but id honestly be content enough to be a regular officer.

Id appreciates some advice or any feedback :slbg:
