:slag:

Like I said about key chain same could apply to boots or anything

If you end up getting injured they won't pay out a claim and could even withhold sick pay of your not using hmp kit.

Why buy stuff they provide for free.

Only think I bought is a viper belt and my own mini torch.

But each to there own
"I know what I must do. I don't know if I'm strong enough to do it. Will you help me?"

My key chain will snap, just takes a little more force, the issue is 2mm thick, mine is 3.5mm
One good pull away from a prisoner and it would snap.

Point on boots.... I'm still waiting for my issued boots, along with around 2/3rds of my kit...

The power,

Thank you for you contribution to the thread I respect and understand everything you're saying, like the keychains, however this thread was not to insight or encourage a robo-screw, just to simply compare kit lists so that others could get ideas or learn from (such as pens for example) as someone who is new won't know this from the off.

Also I agree it's not the gear but the person I went of the presumption people was already using personality and professionalism in the role.

Hope this clears it up.

Some of you aren't listening to what the experienced staff here are saying!

Use the issued key chain and adjust it to the correct length. I don't care what other staff at your jail are using, that's their look-out. The key chain is designed to have a breaking strain of around 100kg, which is easy to achieve with someone tugging at it violently against most people's own body-weight. The reason for this is that if a prisoner tries to drag you into a cell by your chain, it can break and you can get free.

The bit about losing your keys putting you in serious trouble is nonsense. We have loads of keys and a prisoner taking your set by force is much more preferable than you ending up as a hostage! We can get the keys back at a later point!

Listen to what you're being told - it may save your life!

I was just highlighting the fact that everything you need minus the above things mentioned, pens notepad diary etc... and a utility belt,

Anything else is issued, I think with regards to using your own of anything is not recommended unless it's in writing,

I can't recall many cases where keys have been took, in comparison to how many prison officers, civis etc walk through wings with keys each day it is a very rare event in deed.

NTKB,

Putting it crystal clear, again it's appreciated I can understand it all as said previously, a key set can be regained with a c&r team but a life cannot be.

To everyone,

Again this is what this thread is for compare, listen learn gain new ideas, everyone on this forum is trying to help and the way things are going with experienced guys and gals leaving we could all use a little advice and insight..

Now can we actually share and compare kit lists?!

Thank you,

Stobie.

yeah Stobie go for it

=================== MY KIT LIST HERE == = = = = =

list of items

=================== END OF KIT LIST == = = = = =

I think Stobie wants to see members write their kit lists in this thread, now we all acknowledge that advice from experienced staff has been set down and indeed, acknowledged :slnote: so, do a list!

A question as this was previously mentioned.. how do you conceal and hide your own mug(teacup) lol?

And so far my kit list is going to consider of:

Viper belt
POA Diary
2 Pens :sley:
Spare shirt (good shout)
Notebook
Gloves
Roll on deodorant :slwin:
And possible mug and teabags.

Opinions?

Stobie.
