Congrats AndyFB86!AndyFB86 wrote:Evening all,
Received an email from NOMS today advising me that I passed my RAD last weekreally over the moon! Awaiting to hear now from the 3 prisons I have applied for. Good luck to all those who are going through the same process!
I also heard today that I passed my RAD, however, I have been told the following:
"Your details and accreditation notification will now be sent to the Ministry of Justice administration centre. They will hold your details on the accreditation list and contact you as soon as you are matched to a vacancy at your chosen Prison so that the vetting and security process can be started where required."
Is this when they pair you to a specific prison depending on where you have applied? Does it mean that there is no vacancy currently and I have to wait until one becomes available? Can anyone give any guidance as to how long this may take place? I am keen to figure out when I may potentially start as it will affect notice periods for my current role, holidays etc.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help!
Re: The Whole Process Detailed
Don't worry, we all had the same. You'll get a call, hopefully within a month to talk to you about notice period etc and a training start date. Congratulations by the way!
Re: The Whole Process Detailed
Congratulations to you too (LOL987).
Yeah my email said the same. As anewstart said, expect a call soon to discuss the next step... Hopefully sooner rather than later
let us know when you hear more. Good luck!

I can't wait for "the call" .... Hoping it's sooner rather than later.... Exciting times eh peeps...
There's a fine line between hyphenated words
Re: The Whole Process Detailed
I just wanted to say to anyone considering or waiting to hear that although I'm only one week in and the week was fairly disorganised (for various reasons) I think that this job looks seriously interesting!
There seem to be many 'avenues' one can go down if one wants to progress in their career and in some respects I'm a bit annoyed that I didn't go for this when I was younger.
I'm sure it's 'worse' now than it was in the good old days but I think there's a lot to recommend it still, if you're the type of person that wants to do a good job.
Obviously it's very early for me but I haven't seen anything yet that has me running for the hills

Be aware those who haven't sat in a classroom for a long time, it really is information overload and you will need to study hard so if anyone thought it is going to be a holiday then forget it!! Haha!! But I will say this it's fascinating what we are learning it's fun and you'll make anaIng friends but be prepared for some hard work

Chuck me in the deep end and I will swim!!

Good luck and just take it easy, the more you 'try' the more nervous you're likely to make yourself
