Fitness test help with transport

Post by Samc1888 »

Hi all!

I’ve got my fitness test next week in Leeds and just wondered if anyone has ever received help with transport. It takes around an hour and 45 minutes for my to get there but sadly my car has just gone pop and public transport is non existent to get me to the test centre. Has anyone got any suggestions or had help from HMPs to aid getting there? Abit if a silly question but thought I’d ask.

Many thanks

Get a train then a taxi from the train station, it’s 6 mile from the station.

That’s what I will be doing at the end of the month 👍🏻

It’s half hour to my nearest train station so I’m thinking bus-train- taxi. I live on the east coast near around Bridlington area, and I did have an email about £100 travel expenses but didn’t want to spend to much as I’d read people waiting months for a rebate on it and with my car costing a fortune it’s all up in the air! Thanks all from your suggestions

If you can get your hands on a horse and cart, and set off now, you might just make it in time for your test next week 👍🏻

Hi,

I've got my fitness/medical at Leeds next week as well, I've had white coat syndrome for a long time don't know why this happens when I go to the doctors my blood pressure is higher :( The occupational health nurse who went through my medical form over the phone was lovely I explained this to her she suggested getting a letter from my GP saying about my white coat syndrome and that my blood pressure is normal which they have done for me to take to my medical so fingers crossed I so want this job x

Hi Jason,

The nurse phoned me to discuss something I put on the original medical form I completed I think they only contact you if there is anything they need to speak to you about when’s your medical/fitness?

On my application there is a pre medical and fitness form, but all that's on there is my uniform sizes and my next of kin details, is this the same for everyone? This is the form I can see that's related to my medical

I believe they will only call if there is anything on your health questionnaire that they need more information on.
