POELT Residential
POELT Residential
Does the POELT have to be residential? Could I choose to commute if I wanted to and do they pay expenses/mileage?

Labgurl I’ll jump on here instead of starting another topic, I bet you’re all pissed off with them haha. Unfortunately I don’t have kids yet
but we do have a horse that needs care both morning and night, say I had to go Newbold for instance that’s 1:30 minutes from me, I couldn’t afford to drive that from 10/13 weeks.

Re: POELT Residential
It's fine that's what the forum is for. I think they pay milage as I got emailed a form for doing my fitness test for claiming back mileage so could get paid milage to travel we can't afford for me to go back and fourth as we can't claim benefits as partner earns to much.

Re: POELT Residential
Currently most POELT courses are non residential, they are doing at various establishments around the country and will try and keep you as local as possible. If you have to travel you will be entitled to either milage or a hire car talk to your people hub. You can also claim toil for your journey time. Toil = time off in leau and will be the difference between journey time from home to your own establishment and your POELT centre. (Basically if it takes 30 mins home to home prison and 45 mins home to POELT centre you get 15 mins toil each way, which will work out 2.5 hours per week.)

Re: POELT Residential
I have been offered residential at Newbold in May thankfully as it’s about 90min journey.
I think it just depends on the establishment

Thanks for the info kingofthekippax!
Newbold is around 50mins away from me so I would be happy to commute
