The blood pressure thing wasn’t only me then!.. I had to redo mine because I was so anxious! I always get nervous having my blood pressure taken , honestly never bothered me before but as I got older it did !
I told the nurse I’m fit and exercise, and that I just get nervous !

The nurse asked me if I was nervous as my blood pressure was high, yes I was, plus I took a wrong turn on the way to the centre so was all flustered!

She was lovely though, let me do the rest of the medical and sit and listen to the introduction talk with the instructor before taking it again

One week today for me fitness and medical, measured out 15m at the weekend and tried the bleep test, got to level 6, was breathing like a baby rhino like !!

I have done it before but I was slightly leaner than I am now !

Just wanted to do it so I knew I could, at my worst, so come the test, I know I’m more than capable

I did (and shockingly passed) my fitness back in November and it was so so bad! The instructor told me afterwards that in her whole career, she’s never witnessed somebody miss so many beeps and still manage to pass the test

I’m live now but realised my test runs out soon! No one at my prison has asked about the fitness test, do you do the tests at your actual prison ?

Yes it'll be at your own establishment from now on. Fitness tests at mine have been postponed due to covid

Well, travelled down to Manchester yesterday for fitness and medical, what a total waste of time it was.....passed eye test and hearing test, all new processes from the last time I did this, only for my blood pressure to be too high to go and do the fitness test....WOUNDED !!! Left the centre like I’d been kicked in the bollocks !

3 times I was over the limit, the 3rd time being marginally over, felt like I had my heart ripped out, even though I know I can rebook, I did not even give the blood pressure any thought in the lead up to the test.

Seeing my GP on Friday, see if there is anything untoward, I have a feeling that my weight is going to be an issue that needs addressing.....lockdown has not been kind !

Ah man, you must be fuming. I had HPB on my first fitness test and was only just allowed to take my fitness test, I went to see the GP who put it down to being in a stressful job, told me to lower my alcohol and caffeine consumption.
