Re: Start dates

Post by JCOX4 »

So Ive just had my 3rd phonecall from SSCL/PR recruitment asking me to rebook and do resit my fitness test. (I Cancelled my booked one due to not being up for a 90 mile commute into central London) Bloody annoying me now as it is technically still in date until November! I am wondering if they are looking to give a start date to "red" jails but towards the end of the year hence pressuring for an up to date fitness test.

Anyone else had these calls and email or am I just lucky?

Anyone on the Merit List? I had a text message last week that said 'thank you for being so patient whilst we wait on news to progress your application' what does this mean? I'm waiting for a start date but I don't know how long the wait is , anyone heard anything?

If you have already gone through the Vetting after being sent a Conditional offer, then you're probably in the same boat as the rest us pal -- just a waiting game now 👍

J129, I believe it’s just another generic, meaningless message that’s sent to all applicants. I’ve received numerous over the last few months. Offer little or no update but at least we’re not forgotten about 🥱

Hi, I phoned tonight and it’s all Prisons. The people who phone are given a list everyday to call. So could be anytime now for whichever prison you have applied for.

Hmm interesting and conflicting.. I spoke with someone from PR tuesday and they said they will start giving out start dates in the next few weeks but they are clearing the backlog of officers currently working as OSGs as a priority. Then as a second priority they will be starting "red sites" then next they would be starting people in order of date vetting was passed..
