Start dates
Start dates
How long are people waiting for start dates? Are understaffed prisons given priority? I have been waiting a week so far
Re: Start dates
What happened a week ago? was it the call?
Re: Start dates
I have been waiting 4 weeks, since passing my vetting. I have been told, they are awaiting a decision, when to proceed with start dates, as they have a bag log who’s training was cancelled due to Covid.

Re: Start dates
Just one wait after another. This has been so poorly managed, I only hope they don't lockdown again on the 2nd wave (if it happens)
Re: Start dates
Even when your in your establishment, they all say shared services (sscl) are absolutely shocking.
Re: Start dates
There is a pattern emerging here
Re: Start dates
Sadly it's down to sscl at the end of the day, they may be able to try push things along but it's down to sscl, they have a high turn over of staff hence why they are crap
Re: Start dates
Had a txt through today asking me to retake fitness test. Rang recruitment and they are getting everyone to redo fitness tests as they are expecting start dates through imminently and they want everyone's fitness test up to date.
Hopefully this is kind of a good sign, even if annoying, mine doesn't expire until November anyway but still have to redo it now.

Re: Start dates
They did that with me mate, I had my start date then said I had to redo the fitness before my start date.
Re: Start dates
Hope you’re knife, fork and spoon hasn’t been too busy during lockdown so you pass your fitness
Re: Start dates
Morning All,
Just wondering if any Prison officers have had any start dates through, in the last couple of weeks?
