12 weeks to some would have been a bonus, there have been people who waited even more!

With Christmas, new year and bank holidays there was always gonna be some delays on yours but I’m sure you’ll get a response soon

So today I got the dreaded news that pre employment checks are unsatisfactory. Gutted is an understatement however I slightly expected to fail due to my historical criminal record. However, does anyone have the appeal address just so I can get an understanding of why I failed? Ive tried calling SSCL but they are closed. Cheers

Sorry to hear your news but don’t give up, like I said before I’m training with a guy with a very colourful young record and he appealed successfully

If you have a search about on here (top right search bar) there’s loads of threads on appeals processes etc
Failing that give sscl a call, maybe on Friday and they’ll guide you through it

Keep us updated :slbg:

I certainly will keep you all updated NOS. Ive read so many threads on here with people who have failed vetting or have got so far with the process and then you never hear from them again.. I just spoke to a helpfull fella on a number I found on here (free number too  ) he's given me details on how to appeal and given some advice on what to put in there. Said to call back once I receive the details on failure and he said he will help some more if he can. He said its unlikely its failed on criminal record checks as they usually take 4 weeks to come back from PNC and I've not even been in vetting 2 weeks. Furthermore they have had weekends and xmas thrown into the mix..
I will keep you updated with how it goes.

Gutted for you. I hope you hear soon why then you can get that appeal straight back in and get passed.
Was a little concerned myself tonight as status was previously just going through employment checks, now it says pretty much the same but with loads of gumph! I too have a couple of issues with my record, just hoping as was 30 years ago it will not be an issue.
Have everything crossed that you will come out the other side mate. 🤞

JCOX4, as others have said don’t give up until you know for sure. You declared previous convictions from a long time ago and didn’t get a custodial sentence. You still have a chance. Just declare everything and be honest if you appeal.
