Withdrawal is giving them the easy option and way out, you never know, you need to wait for a verdict mate and accept whatever date they decide, fingers crossed still !!

Don’t withdraw your application, if you’re still interested in the job, atleast wait for the appeal decision.Maybe no news is good news? Good luck.

So so sorry for jumping on your thread, this sounds like my best chance at a reply!

Hi everyone, I sent off my appeal Monday ( 17th) by post as I was told I’d have to send it that way...
Will they let me know when they’ve received my letter or am I best off emailing them it as well?
Bit frustrating as it’s do to with my countersignatory, which I have 3 of(who are acceptable etc.)
Does anyone know any more information on what to expect?
Thank you

My advice would be don't hold your breath waiting for an outcome...
I sent in my appeal on 16th January and my portal was updated to "referred for decision" on 17th Jan so I know it was received. I'm still waiting for an outcome. I'm starting to get really frustrated with the process now, it should not take this long reviewing an appeal and making a decision.

Good luck. One of our trainers has served time so all is not lost.

The number for SSCL (4pm-10pm) is 01633 632600 and is inclusive in free mobile minutes.
I dealt with a guy called Paul Temple who was brilliant

Evening ladies and gents.. Im listing my previous convictions and want to know what you think my chances of passing vetting would be? Ive read many many many posts regarding this but none as sh*T as my past.. a few years ago when i was 16/17 (im now 30) I was hanging about with the wrong people. Felt like I had to do some stuff to fit in with them. Massively realise now the impact I had on peoples lives and how it must of effected them. With a family now myself I realise what I done was terrible and wish I could turn back time. Sadly I cant. Not looking for "you should never be a prison officer" you cant be trusted ect. And yes I know that its "each case is decided on its own"

1. Drink driving (court) 2010 ( I was 20)
2. Using threatening behaviour (court £100 fine) 2007 (I was 17)
3. Theft from motor vehicle (court reparation order 3 months 18 hours com service) 2007 ( I was 17)
4. Carried in vehicle taken without consent (court referral order 3 months) 2006 (I was 16 and im annoyed about this as I only admitted to it to stop my mates dad from getting fired, it was his work van and he took us for lessons in a car park)
5. Theft of cycle (referral order 3 months) 2006 (I was 16)
6. Damage to property (youth reprimand) 2005 ( I was 15)
Hi Im a serving officer and have a dr-10 it was spent whenfor a year i applied, there is a section in the vetting process that goes into detail about convictions extra i had to provide the exact information ba level, fine amount, suspension etc.. Be as transparent as you can! If you are succesful and do not declare and a prisoner finds out about your convictions well need i say more...

Nope not a sausage.. Although today my portal has changed slightly and the black box that says "further information on pre employment checks" which you click and it takes you to a track progress page has reappeared. This hasn't been there since it updated on 17th Jan.. Probably means nothing but I remain positive thats its a sign somethings going on in the background lol?

Good Morning all!!
This morning I received some great news and that my appeal has been over turned and my vetting has now been passed :slbg: :slbg:
However Im back on the merit list as my place has now been given away.

Hope this gives some hope to others that may find themselves in a similar position with regards to criminal convictions and that with honesty and an explanation you can still be a prison officer.

Stay safe
J
