Knocked me off my stride a bit, that’s all. Doesn’t seem uncommon for ppl to fail, appeal, then decision being overturned so I’m just hoping for that outcome.

Just another hurdle, I suppose. Fingers crossed it’s the last bugger.

That I did bear, and it was painful. Over a month it took them to decide on my case, and that was pre covid. I wouldn't like to guess how long it will take them these days! Just hope it is something simple that can be rectified quickly.

One bit of advice I would give is that they won't give any info over the phone or via email so don't wast your time.
They only deal with you via post.......... Although I do think sscl still accept pigeon mail?

The vetting does seem pretty un straight forward! TheRealMe, you’ve already passed vetting before so I’m sure it’s just a glitch.
My vetting took bloody ages!
Put your appeal in, tell them you’ve already been in the prison service and take it from there.
Best of luck.

Cheers lads. I’ll be doing everything I can to get it over the line. Can’t see any reason for it to fail as literally nothing has changed since I last joined, it’s mental. Head was up my arse last night ha.

Received correspondence confirming that my vetting has failed due to an employment references and they won’t be seeking further referencing or reopening my case. Feel massively let down, surely everyone has a right to appeal and make a case for themselves.

I'm really sorry to hear that mate. I had a job offer that got rescinded last year coz of my references. Is it possible for you to contact your references and find out what they said about you?

I’ve received another email explaining I can request the reference information and can also appeal the decision so I’m now in the process of gathering as much information and credible references as possible 🤞🏻

I hope it goes well for you!!! How does the vetting work? They are doing mine at the minute but I've never been employed.before, I've been in full time education so there's not much for them to really look at :(

@TheRealMe - sorry to hear of your bump in the road pal. Hopefully you can iron out the details and get back on the wagon.

Good luck 😉
