Prison Officer Applications
Re: Prison Officer Applications
I've sent off my pre appointment checks which I assume is the vetting but I've seen a few people mention about having to provide their parents details. There wasn't anything on there that asked for those details for me

Unless you have applied for a cat a Azer then you will not have to supply parental details as that it part of the counter terrorism check

npatchett2000 it is a Category A prison. Maybe they ask for that separately later on? Communication for the whole process has seemed really poor. I had to contact the RAD Centre to get my results the other day as well

Re: Prison Officer Applications
Is it right to assume that Cat A vetting takes longer than other vetting given the need for a CTC as well. I know lots of other factors come into it too but I've applied for Cat C/Cat D satellite so I was hoping the lack of CTC might make it go a bit quicker...

Hi All,
Stoopid question from a Newbie to the forum... I passed my online assessment last week and i'm going for the Recruitment Assessment Day this Thursday - along with the fitness and medical test. What should I be wearing for the day? Shirt and tie? I don't want to look out of place.

Re: Prison Officer Applications
Oh, and another question - I will be going for my RAD later this week. I've chosen to go to Manchester. I had a choice of Manchester or Newbold - they are the same distance and travelling time from where I live - Do you think Newbold would have been a better choice? I'm only asking because I think if I am lucky enough to get through the RAD, i'll end up in Newbold to do my 8 weeks residential.
Re: Prison Officer Applications
maybe these topics could help, "What to wear for the RAD"
"What to wear on the first week of Training"
"old info on Newbold"
welcome to the site !!

Hi everyone!
Brand new to the forum, I've tried to search for my answer but no luck!
Attended RAD 5th July.
RAD results 6th July.
This evening:
1st email 19:40 = conditional offer
2nd email 19:40 = merit list
Confused!

Re: Prison Officer Applications
Seems weird they have both come through together. Phone tomorrow and ask which one is correct. Have you logged into your online application?
Re: Prison Officer Applications
I have, it displays the reserve list statement, which suggests the merit list email is the correct one. However, I shall contact JUST INCASE!
Am I correct with ss contact - 01633 632 600? Also do you know what time they're open? As the keeno over here will be ringing asap!

Ah yea if that's online probably merit list. However some people are only only it for a week or two. So fingers crossed.

Re: Prison Officer Applications
Thanks for the number, I got got through and spoke to a lovely chap who is going to email someone for me to clarify which email is correct. Although it is looking like merit list as that's what's on my profile. But we shall see!
