Cheers dartsrob
I just worry that due to the stressful nature of the job, I might fail due to having a history of not great mental health.
I’m fine and been fine for years, not on any medication, just worry it’ll hold me back
I have just done my occupational health and I have a history of some mental health struggles, as long as you’re honest with them they go off individual circumstances!
If you genuinely feel fit and well enough to handle the stresses of the job I’m sure you’ll be absolutely fine

Good morning
Finally after eight and a half weeks vetting, I got the call last night.
I start in a South East prison on the 28th December and will be going to Lilleshall in Newport on the 11th January.
It has been a long process with references not being received etc!!!!
I was expecting Newbold so does anyone have any experience of Lilleshall? Is anyone else going in January?
It is quite a distance for me but quicker than expected so accepted immediately.
Has anyone had a conditional offer and had to retake fitness test again how long did it take for your start date after? I spoke to sscl on weekend and she told me o passed my fitness and vetting has been passed too just wondering if it’s going to be another long wait for the start date?
I have passed my ARC and fitness. they told me I would go straight into vetting but I haven't heard anything from them since.
how long does this usually take? what are the details I need for vetting? so I can get ready and fill out forms asap
Hey chilly, how long ago did you fill in your vetting details? Bare in mind SSCL says it can take up to 12 weeks for vetting to be completed. However if you have waited longer than 12 weeks don't be afraid to get in touch with SSCL to get an explanation from them.
Hi everyone, I had to provide a new countersignory last minute which wasn't ideal. My new countersignory has had issues sending the email back to the vetting team (rejected the email) so she's sent it back to the person who sent the initial email asking for a reference..... That should be alright shouldn't it? Or would it be worth checking with SSCL?
Many thanks in advance
(11 weeks into vetting and counting)
Wonder if anyone can help I had a email off vetting general that said I'd put yes for insolvent my mistake I've replied to the email to say it was a mistake and I meant to put no. Does anyone know if they reply to emails or do they just alter the form and update the portal?
