I started the day before payday and I got one days pay for the one day I had worked! However, I also know a couple on my course didn't get paid on the pay day after this. I would make sure they have all your details and get the forms sent back promptly

So if I started on the 2nd of November does that mean I'll receive or should receive approx 4 weeks pay at the end of November? . . Just curious as Christmas and three kids needs sorting out :slbg:

Hello all!

I start on 18 January 16. Can you recommend a decent brand of tactical belt?

Any new starters on here receiving the market force supplement of £4000pa? If so was it mentioned in your contract? Mine wasnt mentioned in the pay section of my contract.

Thanks, :slbg:

You don't want a tactical belt until after training as you can't wear them during training,

I ordered mine on eBay for 4.63 and its brilliant belt

Yes there is a gym on-site, it is small but I found around 2030 was a good time to go,

There is also a trim trail around the site also

Hi all,

Whilst attending the POELTS course do you still get the same wage or is it reduced by the 17% unsociable hours supplement?

Thanks

No reduction... you get paid your full wage rate during training.

Is there much evening work involved in the POELTS course? I am asking because my course location has changed and is no longer residential meaning an hours travelling there and back each day.

One night per week. We finished the normal working day at 17:00, had tea and did our ED (evening duty) until 18:45. This is used to prepare for a group project between 4-5 students which you will take turns in presenting to the trainers and to your section on the final week. This is on a prison based subject that they pick for you. Absolutely nothing to worry about and lasts for around 20 mins per group.
