Rad/vetting

Post by Lthenewbie » Fri Jun 02, 2017 12:42 pm

Hi fellow memebership just thought I'd write a quick post with reference to the rad I'm not sure of my results as of yet but it really isn't as daunting as you think the role plays are not hard but it feels surreal

Also was told that there was a VETTING CLERK on site at newbold to help speed up the vetting process hope this helps

Leon, did you take any forms with you to RAD ? the reason I'm asking is that in February when I went to Newbolt they done all the ID checks , pictures , vetting forms , pension forms, medical forms . There was a gentlemen with us from HR that actually made sure that these are fill out correctly in order to avoid delays with the vetting team. But now it's done on line and the vetting team is based in the same building with SS . So I'm wondering what is a vetting clerk at Newbolt for ? Extra support to SS because of the large number of applicants ?

I did take medical forms to the rad but they had blank ones there just in case they took all our I'D but NOT our photos which didn't make sense as from reading these forums seems to be the thing that can hold things up awaiting references etc

well, i think it's just an extra support for vetting service then , since i think there's many applicants and it takes time to check all that.

Hi Leonthenewbie,

When did you do your RAD? I did mine on the 1st June at Newbold and received an email the next day telling me that I had passed. I have been waiting since then to hear anything. I rand SS and they are still waiting to receive my results from Newbold before they can process my application further. They said that Newbold send the results to them in bulk so are probably waiting for more people to pass. Its been nearly 4 weeks now.

I did mine the day after you :)
A few days later I received the email to say I'd passed and the same day received the medical questionnaire....I received the pre employment stuff and sent it back by the 12th

Also if newbold send them the results to say you've passed and they cannot progress your application further how have they emailed you to say you've passed the rad ?

it was the National assessment team that emailed me to say that I had passed not SS. I received my health questionnaire before I received my results so filled that in and sent back. I have not had no pre employment things sent to me though Has your status changed on your application site ?

You're just waiting on a conditional offer or merit list notification now shell12. Your vetting forms come after your acceptance of offer 😉
