Thankyou for the replies and advice.

Iv been practicing really hard and can get to 5.7 on the bleep test. It makes me really out of puff but I hit every beep so Im fairly confident that il pass that.
I'm just not getting any faster running round cones in 34 seconds. I'm still running the 15 meters and pretending I'm going round cones at each end but I can only comfortably do 100 meters give or take. So are the cones not as far apart (15 meters) for the agility test? It's not like just re-running what they've marked out for the beep test plus cones half way along each side? If it's not quite 15 meters then I'm hoping I'd be ok, id just be so disappointed to do it and fail it by a second or so.

There's a video on YouTube that shows what the cone test looks like if you haven't already seen it. This will give you a good idea of what you're expected to do. Also shows the bleep test and the grip test too.

Thanks, I have seen a video on it but it doesn't say how many meters the agility test is so I can't judge if I'm on track with the time or not and my short little legs will only run so fast!!

It's not too bad. I managed fine with the fitness test and I had no time to train. You just need to go as fast as you can around the cones - I let someone go before me so I could judge the speed they went.

The top and bottom cones are less than 15M but adding the slalom in may take it to around 15M. It really is nothing to be scared about, if you can do the bleep test you will be fine on the cones, and unlike the bleep test you have 2 attempts if required.

You all make it sound really easy!! It's the one thing I'm so worried about!

So if there's a couple of straight runs that are less than 15 meters, I should sort of be ok if I go as fast as I can on those bits and that should then give me a bit a time for the 'gates'.

Have you watched the video on either NOMS or youtube regarding the fitness test. The agility test is featured on there. Have a watch and put your mind at rest.

The test itself is not difficult in the slightest ( I didnt find it difficult) and nobody on my RAD found it difficult. There were some pretty unfit people as well. At a light jog, I managed 26 seconds, which I recommend as if you slip around the cone or a gate then you will waste time (slow is smooth, smooth is fast).

If you can do the bleep test, you can do the agility.

I watched the fitness test videos and found them useful. At least I was prepared when I arrived at Newbold. The only times I run are for last orders, and even I passed the fitness test 🙂

I have watched the video that I found, I just can't judge how far it is. I get the jist of where il have to go, it's just the distance to cover that worries me. Maybe that's where im going wrong and I don't go round the cones smooth enough, I just run round them and hope for the best!!

You will be fine - don't panic. If you've cracked the bleep test then you will manage the cones. Think positive.

Afterwards you will wonder why you were so worried. Like I've said I never trained for the fitness test as I didn't have time but I managed it. When is your RAD?

I haven't booked it because I'm worried about the agility and wanted to just get a bit faster but it isn't happening so think I might just have to go for it and see.

Flaming Nora's kobi :slbg: you're getting yourself into a panic. It really isn't that bad and the instructors give great advice and are encouraging. I think you've built it up in your head. Get it booked so you can join us in vetting! Good luck :slby:
