Medical/Fitness Confirmation

Post by Tia  »

Hi all,

Does anyone know if we receive confirmation that we've passed medical and fitness test? I did mine on Friday and have just had an email to say "pre-employment checks on going and been referred for a decison". However, it had said this once before then bounced back but thinking maybe they realised I hadn't done my fitness test at the point. Any advice appreciated.

Yes we most certainly do, although mine took around 3-4 days to come through after passed but they said it may take up to one week when I was doing mine.

No, I wasn't told clearly that I'd passed. I'd say it was mentioned but not a definite. The medical was separate separate the fitness so I was left unsure. From the comments on here my experience was different. For example, the fitness took place in the church area of Newbold which was very unexpected. I thought it would be in a fitness/sports hall at least. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Tia,
I did the fitness in the same church at Newbold.
To do your fitness, you need to pass in your medical first.
Did you complete all the 4 fitness tests? Grip, Shield, Bleep and Agility? The instructor only let you continue to the other test if pass the last one. That means you have to pass in the Bleep, to do the Agility...
If you did the Agility, which is easy, probably you have passed in your fitness test.
I got the confirmed email 6 days after I have passed.
21/12/2020 - Applied

29/03/2021 - Vetting started
29/04/2021 - Medical/Fitness passed
03/06/2021 - Vetting passed
09/06/2021 - The call
06/09/2021 - Start date

I did my medical before the fitness yes. Did all the fitness tests you mentioned too. Was much easier than I thought it would be as when practicing the bleep at home I was taking my whole body over the line. Passed the agility in good time too.

Hey All,

Congrats to all of you who passed the test and will soon start working!

I have my fitness test booked for the 24/May but have been failing on my trainings at the gym. Today I failed again on the bleep test so I have the feeling I will not pass my test next Monday. :(
I was wondering if you know:

- If I fail, will I be able to repeat the test after a few weeks?
- If I cancel, will I be able to rebook it?

I honestly think I need 4-6 more weeks to be prepared.
Unfortunately for the last 15 years I always had office jobs and never trained. 🙄

What are your thoughts?

Thanks!!

As far as I know, you get three attempts at passing fitness but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

It's hard to comment on how long it would take for you to be able to complete the bleep test. However, on the day you will have adrenaline to help you out and the guy who ran the test was very encouraging as one of the men in my group really struggled.

I hope that helps in some small way.

Thank you Tia for your quick reply.
I might give it a try Monday to see at least how it is.

Good luck for your training!
