Training Equipment

Post by Fleets28  »

Morning all

For those already been through or those currently going through induction and training what things can you recommend taking with you

I mean in terms of notepads, pens etc or is it all provided and also anything now you have started you would recommend as useful bits to purchase

It's all provided but you are welcome to bring your own. Just bring yourself in uniform and food/drink (unless your staying away)

Thanks Taff

A few more weeks for me yet but just wanted to start getting prepared

I will be staying away as it’s over an hour and half away - is food etc provided do you know? Or is it a case of buying and claiming back?

For my 2 weeks induction, I took

- lots of pens
- a cheap digital watch
- some note pads

We did a lot of the bits and so I didn’t write a lot down (I have good retention), but it’s individual preference.

Make sure you get into the habit of empty bottles or if it’s a plastic bottle then it needs to be sealed.
Might be different in terms of security but defo something to ask.

We got given a prison issue backpack as well so I bought my own and didn’t need it.

You can only have plastic cutlery and you can’t take in smart watches or phones.

So you can take your own drink but if it’s a bottle of still water from Tesco from a meal deal for example then it must be sealed/ unopened

Or you can take an empty bottle in and fill up in the staff kitchen when you get there
