So I’m just wondering if anyone could give me some advice. Can women wear underwire bras? Does anyone wear white vest top over the bras? What about make up? Hair? Nails varnish?
I’m not wanting to draw attention to myself but I also don’t want to look like I’ve dragged myself through the hedge on the way in lol it’s really just to get a idea of what to expect really. I’m not one for full face of makeup and dolled up to the eye balls lol but I like to look decent?
Do any of you wear wedding rings in there?
Also do anyone wear there uniform out in public?

Female officers are supposed to wear white bras as anything else would show through white shirt and possibly get you unwanted attention. But we have officers wearing alsorts. Some wear sports type bras .
As for nails supposed to be short as obviously you could cause of injury whilst carrying out c&r but again we have loads of sparkling well manicured nails on show. We have officers who wear she'd loads of make up and fake tan and those who are natural. Best advice is follow the rules until out of your training then make your own decisions based on your establishment . As for uniform in public big No, why make yourself a target ? If your traveling too and from work just wear a civilian coat and remove key chain..

Tho whole uniform outside of work I was thinking the same.

A colleague of mine who worked in the male estate said she wears exactly the same hair style and make up to work every day as if she suddenly rocked up with a bouncy blow dry the prisoners may give unwanted attention.
In terms of nails I used to love my long acrylics but not a chance I would have them now. You’d really injure yourself during c&r and also it’s practically of getting your keys out and just every day tasks. I wear my make up. Don’t bother with elaborate eyeshadow but I wear it every day, go my gel manicure, do my hair how I like it as long as it’s tied up. Also can wait to get my last extensions back. In terms of shirts the ones I wear are good quality and very thick so you can’t see through. I always wear a white underwrites bra, if your shirts are too see through h&m do good, thin camis.
