Food only provided on residential courses at Newbold, local courses you need to provide own.
You need to be in full uniform with your issued footwear, keychain and epaulettes on. Black socks are a must as are white bras for females.
Due to Covid Take your own cup (travel mug) and plastic cutlery.

Take uniform and clothes for after work. Take what you think will make your life comfortable, food, drinks, laptop, computer consoles etc etc. Take tea, coffee and milk if you drink that. And a mug or cup, spoon. Until you know what’s provided, as each site will be different.
In training you’ll be expected to be on time, have clean and ironed uniform and polished shoes. You will probably have an inspection most days. Take shoe polish and brushes.
Take a note book and pen for your shirt pocket, it will get you used to it when you finish training.
Another tip is, if you have a car iron all your shirts before you go back on the Mondays. It will save you time in the evenings. If you don’t have access to a car ,or travel with someone, this won’t really be possible.
Another bit of advice is Newbold is a long way from a train station , so bear that in mind if you don’t drive or have a car too.
It’s better to take things and not need them if it makes life easier. You can always leave things in the car that you don’t need.

What do you have to wear for the first day and when do you get your uniform?

Just dress smart on 1st day. Make a good 1st impression. You should be issued uniform on your 1st day.
