Salary query

Hi guys,

I got a question.

I had got my first paycheck last week, and on my payslip it says that my annual full time salary is £19531, however according to my contract my full time salary should be £22293. Is this because I am currently a POELT? And that my salary will automatically increase once I've completed my training?

I believe the £19531 is the base pay, the £22293 is inclusive of unsociable hours. The £22293 is based on a 37 hour week, which is what you are paid for during poelt. Once you go live you’ll have the option of working 37/39/41 hours and your salary will change should you choose to increase your hours.

My understanding is that you should be getting the full £22293 from the start but they write the payslips a bit strangely. You should be coming out with about £1500 a month. If you are not I would check with HR as someone I know was working as an officer bit getting paid as a OSG for 6 months.

Following on from this.. at what point are you able to select a 39/41hr week contract? How many weeks after you started?

I believe it’s after 12 months when you have completed your probation period

As soon as you start at your establishment you can up your hours, just speak to the detail office and your line manager, you will get a application form to fill in and send to your line manager via email. I have the form on my emails if anyone wants it
