Thanks it’s a long wait that gets longer as you approach the finish line!

Yeah I think that’s a shame. Also not being able to socialise which I think would help us settle into our teams faster and feel more part of the group. I certainly think we’re going to need it in our job.

We will just have to look forward to our graduation when we receive our diplomas!

Your first 2 weeks should be an induction where you'll be given a tour of the prison and shown which wing you'll be allocated to. You may recieve a key talk which will allow you to take OSG keys until you pass your POELT training.

Had a poelt on his 2nd day of induction come out on escort with me yesterday. There are a load starting next few weeks at my establishment which is nice to see.

Going out on escort on day two that sounds good does that. I would be expecting such duties to come after a year. Really appreciate the little insight serving officers can share.

I am waiting for a phone call medical and was wondering if I will fail on any of the following health issues I've answered on my questionnaire.
Mental Health,Stress,Anxiety
I was affected by the above after losing my Father about 15 years ago took medication for a couple of months and on one other occasion when my wife had cancer but no medication on the second time , no time off work or hospital visits

Dizzy Spells
Had a couple of Dizzy spells in 2015 and 2020
2015 had tests done at local Hospital and was advised on diet, exercise and fluid intake.
2020 Woke up from my sleep feeling sick run to bathroom and either passed out or tripped over and was violently sick was taken to hospital put on a drip to rehydrate me for 4 hours and paracetamol to reduce high temperature.
Released without any further follow ups.

Have previously suffered from Sciatica but not in recent years.I have a much more healthy lifestyle now and have lost a lot of weight.
Also have had Gout twice on both occasions just after Christmas which my Doctor advised me it was due to over indulging.

It’s all assessed on its own merits. The answer is nobody knows. You will be asked about your current condition and occupational health will make a decision. I had a spell of depression over 5 years ago took a month of work and it wasn’t held against me. I’d try not to worry and as is the sound bite on here. Be honest. Hope the call goes well.
