Vetting questions

Post by aliever7239 » Wed Jun 24, 2020 10:36 pm

Hello guys , i am new here , i just want to write quick keypoints of my application so you guys can understand what i actualy ask, so:
January 2020 made the online app
Ferbuary passed Arc without fitness test because their gym was unavailable
End of february passed fitness test
1 of march they call me that the documents that i brought to Arc are not good and ,I need another appointment to be checked
Coronavirus pandemic start so my appointment had to wait,

Middle of may finnaly they decided to verify my documents via videocall , all good and they put me on the merit list

10 on june i got the call that they want to offer me a provisional offer and i started vetting

Now , is been a week since i submited the forms ,however my questions is how much that countersignatory matter ?i am a foreigner living in UK since 4 years ,i don t know anyone who is british and has the right profession to sign for me ,however i put my current employer director as contersignatory, they will actually call him ? Does this contersignatory is like the one for passport? He needs to sign photo on the back and give his details ?Because he won t. Or he will just recive a call to confirm that he knows me ?He will do that.I am very worried about this contersignatory, everything else is fine no criminal record ,good references.
And finally , to finish my app timeline ,today i recived an email to do some healt questionare to some website.
THANK YOU GUYS FOR READING AND REPLYING

My countersignatory wasn't contacted at all, however I am British and hold a British passport which I presented at ARC and on my vetting forms so Im sure they can verify who I am from that.
It may be different for foreign nationals with no British passport.
Im no expert btw.
Good Luck!

November 😬😬😬!!!

Should have bloody kept on training people locally where possible, scrapped all the residential training for the time being.

Various other people flouting lockdown without consequence and care, made a mockery of the whole thing.

I started vetting in 18th June, so a week or so behind you.
My vetting is still ongoing, apparently waiting on a reference.
I don’t know why they couldn’t train people at local establishments, maybe give them a test before they start each day? The government could have paid for this after all its for their employees!!
You’d think more emphasis should have been done for public servant recruits...

I asked the recruitment team by email what reference they were waiting for, to maybe get a move on bit but they said they can’t disclose that information to candidates Not helpful!
Now I don’t know who they’re waiting for and I’m still on furlough with my job and have no idea what’s going to happen with that.

Everything just ground to a halt, and the plan the service had in place has probably cost a few people a career as it simply was not feasible for some to do OSG.

I started a new job this week, I was starting to get a panic on with the furlough scheme changing on August 1st, I can’t imagine many employers who are still not operating, contributing towards employee wages, it’s no wonder thousands of people have been laid off so far this month.

bearguy i thought you were doing osg whilst waiting for training to start?

They have started one course up so far this week. And another starts.minday and i think 2 more end of July. But none are residential and i dont think and will be for a while.

I have been told though theres 1300 waiting to be trained before they get to me .... looooong wait ahead

Aliever i started my "career" at hewell, some amazing officers and SOs/CMs there mate. Youll be in good hands

Gaboo, it’s a long story, but the short version is, the prison let me down big time as a new recruit, I was faced with huge unprofessionalism and zero empathy.

Due to this and the uncertainty surrounding my start, I told them to withdraw me, however, later the same day, I got a phone call to say I had a placement at another prison on a temp basis and I would have my uniform dropped off, I had my IT details for the computer system.....JACKPOT !!!! I was over the moon !! I had my career back on, which I had built myself up for......

The day I was expecting my uniform to come, I was sent an email from the trainer to say the governor had accepted my resignation and goodbye 😤😤😤😤

I sent a very long winded email, asking to reconsider this, only to be completely ignored !!!

I will be applying again once things fire up, it’s not something I’m going to walk away from, I need this career ! My ARC expired end of June, yet to find out if they grant any extensions given what has happened ? Anyone in the know ??

Even considering going north of the border Gaboo, nicer scenery

Bearguy, hopefully they will extend your ARC as it’s unfair if yours ran out at the end of June. Maybe extension of 3 months? Maybe call SS and confirm it.
By all means, stay on the merit list and apply for the SPS.
No harm in keeping options open. Maybe their recruitment process is alot better?!
Would you consider the Police too?
