Tracking your vetting

Post by northorsouth » Thu Sep 26, 2019 9:25 am

Hello everyone

First post on here, Ive been through the application process and completed my ARC and recently received a phone call offering me a provisional post at either HMP Lindholme or HMP Moorland, I accepted and chose the prison I wanted and then went through all the vetting forms

Ive seen posts on here where people are able to track the stages of their vetting and see how its coming along however, I can't find anywhere to do this. When I log in to the application centre there is a section to track my progress but it only ever brings up an explanation of what each stage means, no where does it have what stage I am at

Does anyone have any advice on where to look and see where Im at with this?

Hope this isn't a question that has been answered and Ive not searched properly :slsm:

Any

I wondered the same, I’ve seen people say they are tracking their vetting but I’m not sure how

I had an email today telling me that I’ve been moved up to decision stage on my vetting, when you log in and check the status of application there is the paragraph explaining what stage it’s at

It’s not overly obvious but you have to go into the checks information section and then look at track my application, then just match up your paragraph to the stage you’re at for an explanation
Sometimes it doesn’t quite match but you can work it out from there

It changed again today saying they’ll be in touch soon about the next stage of my application so I’m hoping that is a good sign!

I’ve not too much to be vetted on in all fairness, 2 jobs with good references in last 7 years, existing ctc in place and regular dbs checks from my current job and everything else is stable

I’ll update with what comes next when I find out

:slre: I went for my arc in Manchester on the 26th September, I’m going to moorland or lindholme but I’m still waiting for an offer. My score at arc was 59 out of 80, is that any good?

I couldn’t really say on how good a score is but if you’ve passed and on the next rung of the ladder then you’re well on the way :slbg:

How did you find it at Manchester? I really enjoyed the day and the assessors were really good. Only the nurse was a bit grouchy but I suppose it’s a bit draining having to do the same tests over and over on potential newbies!

I’m beginning training on 11/11 but let us know how you get on with your vetting and when an offer comes in for you

Yes agreed the nurse was a tough bird. She seemed very grouchy!
I loved the assessment day, I almost died on the beep test even though I consider myself physically fit?!
Well I’m hoping the process speeds up and maybe I’ll get the chance to start before next year!
I’ll let you know

:slbg: I got my offer! :slyay:
I was given the option of moorland or lindholme, I chose moorland. I am now waiting to be vetted. I already have a DBS that was renewed only two weeks ago so I’m hoping that’ll speed things along!

Hang on in there, could be a number of things such as a slow response from previous employer or you could be waiting for them to have a training date ready for you but it’s not yet in the calendar

It’s frustrating not having an update, as I’m sure if it said vetting complete you’d feel better knowing it was done and you were just waiting on a start date

I’m sure you’ll get your call soon with a date 😊

I was told that vetting usually takes up to 12 weeks.....I got through mine in less than 4 !

Was shocked when I got the call offering a place !

:slzi: so it now says that they will be in touch with me shortly?.... hoping this is the last bit!
Hope training has gone well? Where are you training at? I imagine I’ll be at the same place.
