Hi all, I've been live now for almost 8 months and have done a bit of everything so far, apart from a bedwatch. I got a call today on my rest day to let me know I'm doing one tomorrow. Does anyone have any tips or advice for these, do I need to claim pp/toil for lunchtime and starting early than my shift would normally start etc?

Depends on the establishment, my establishment generally does a 8hr stint on bed watch but it's not unheard of for people to do a full A shift on there, you most likely won't get an official break, if you happen to be on your own shift you'll probably at best get TOIL for your lunch unless you've prearranged PP, if you're on PP you'd just claim for it As usual.
Officially you shouldn't have your phone or anything but most do, even if it's not to use for entertainment I find the escort phones provided are sketchy for signal at best. Always take at least a book for entertainment, I have see people with Laptops, DVD players, some of the regulars have show up with their own extension leads and all sorts to make sure they're well entertained. More than a couple I know take their own cusions as you'll most likely end up sat on a plastic chair all day.
The Internet never forgets. :slda:
