Sorry guys but I’m preparing to go to work now. Speaking about how comfortable you can feel last night I had a flooded cell, relocated/ restrained a prisoner and on top an external escort for three hours. If next night you will feel comfortable to go to work then this job is definitely for you. Sorry but not coated sugar. :slbg:
This is the attitude! I think also try and avoid the negative people because they will bring you down with them!

Think it's mainly down to lack of staff but, so far been left with 2 other poelts to bang up the worst wing on the prison, with no experienced staff nearby . Got a telling off from 1 So for doing something another So told me to do .
All of the above is just little examples but I've done lots of security work previously, just thinking it's not suited for me personally, just wanted to see if anyone has been through the same this early on . I know that I am not the only one in my intake group questioning the decision to join
Here's what the OP posted on the other identical thread he created

Personally I think the real training starts when you go live, poelt teaches you what you need to know but doing the job teaches you how to do it. So many people hate it initially and very few people feel confident from the start it takes time and experience of different situations to find your feet. I wanted to do the job for a while before I started, had a great poelt then hated the job. Took me 6/9 months before I felt things starting to change. Been doing the job quite a while now and couldn't imagine myself doing anything else. If you don't feel supported tell someone n if nothing changes tell someone else. It's easy to overlook somebody when you may be dealing with several serious incidents in a shift bit there is still a duty of care to you too.
