There are numerous threads on this already, or check the knowledge base for what you require.

I was advised from my establishment to go in sports gear so I did. They also just said to be comfortable and no marks were gained or lost for how you dressed.
I did wonder about the whole "first impressions count" thing, but there were 12 of us there at the RAD and all were in sports gear.

I wore smart clothing and changed into sports clothing as did all of us at my RAD, in my head it was the first impressions however the way they were it was very relaxed, I got the impression they wouldn’t have minded either way 😊
It did say on my RAD email to dress comfortable and that there was no dress code.

Have a decent hair cut, wear something nice (smart) and smell nice. Look your best I think. I Have a feeling first impression for your role play might help.

it's my opinion anyway but remember to take extra clothing in a bag for the fitness test and a pair of trainers.

I also took a sandwich and a few snacks for me to eat in the car before driving back as it's a very long day.

Have breakfast before you go for the RAD as you will need all the energy for the fitness test and to think properly for the Maths, English test and role plays.

In your Role play they want to see what you can do to help the inmates and not keep saying "Il find out for you" or "Il pass on the message so it gets done".

All the best with your RAD.

I went in a suit but had my fitness test straight after the medical so spent the rest of the day in shorts and t shirt including when doing the role plays. So although it’s all about personal pride you can pretty much wear what you want.

Thanks for the advice. Looking forward to my RAD now. I think I will go first impressions because I'm that sort of guy. Old school. Fingers crossed

They’re not there to judge you on how well you’re dressed. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. I wore jeans and trainers.

Remember folks, it’s not an interview, it’s an assessment day. They want you for your personality, not your catwalk outfit.
