You’ve recieved a hostile welcome from people on this forum because of the way you’ve acted towards people Natasha. You take no responsibility for your behaviour and this is my main concern. If you aggravate prisoners the same way you’re aggravating everyone here then I really hope I never have to be put in a situation where I have to work with you.
I concur.

My problem is you seem to feel like your past makes you more qualified.

I think I need to make something clear.

As prison officers are 1st duty Is to keep the general public safe from criminals.
We do this by locking them up and restricting their movements.
This is because the courts and/or a jury of our piers have taken away the only human right the courts can take away.
Liberty.

We, as prison officers, must ensure the other human rights are given.
That, technically is it.

Nowhere does it Say in the human rights act the right to be rehabilitated.

Just because we, as prison officers are human and have empathy, note empathy not sympathy, we go above and beyond and try to rehabilitate on the landings.
Because we care.

Natasha, with regret you show sympathy not empathy and this, in itself is dangerous to MY safety.
You think your doing good but in reality you'll be sucked into their world, they [prisoners] we sense that as a weakness and try to condition and manipulate you.

The rehabilitation in prisons is mainly done by education classes and courses. Run by education staff, not prison officers.
Just because officers try to rehabilitate, its not their main function. We do what we can but all we can do is try to show them right from wrong.

I commend your wanting to help but would you be more suited to working within education?

More eloquently put but pretty much the same thing I was saying, prison officer isn't the correct role for her ambitions, more councillor or education as you say.
It’s too bad that stupidity isn’t painful. Ignorance is one thing, but our society thrives increasingly on stupidity

Start of vetting to the call 17 weeks 2 days.

I have to say Huntsman SGT and Cat have basically all said how I feel on this. Great posts.

To put it bluntly I'd feel you were too much of a liability and like a lot of others have pointed out, your attitude isn't doing you attitude any favours. I for one wouldn't be able to trust you, all the best though.
