We just had an officer with a good few years service at my establishment lose his job for being done for drink drive so I would be amazed if someone was cleared for vetting having been done for that as recent as 2015.

Granted you have nothing to lose in applying but I would be surprised if you did pass vetting,

I wish you luck as i have just started vetting myself i understand the anxiety of it all.

But drink driving is not a daft mistake it is a grave misconduct and a ridiculous level of ignorance in the law and safety of others and your self.

Drink driving can kill and to have a history of such grave error in judgement and decision making should not in my opinion pass vetting, youre trying to enter into an establishment in where you will be expected to use your judgement and wits every minute of every day and consider evrry action you take as they can effect the safety of yourself and your collegues.

Blunt honesty but i think thats what you need.

Natasha, I hope I don’t ever have to meet or work with you. Not for your background but for your arrogant attitude. You’re saying people are entitled to their opinions but you don’t want to hear them.

Yes and I appreciate the blunt honesty but im not the first and I certainly won't be the last people do change and you don't know me so as far as everyone giving me negative feedback thats fine but to be in 11weeks of vetting and honest from THE VERY START of my application I have had a fantastic time getting to where I am today such an amazing thing it is to be who I am today my past is MY PAST I can't change that but I CAN AND WILL change my future.

I know an officer who got done for drink driving and past vetting. I have more of an issue that you have a criminal past spread over 8 years. You haven't learnt from your mistakes as if you had you wouldn't have a criminal record of multiple offences. I also think your attitude is also not what the service needs. I truly hope I don't get to shake you by the hand.

I agree Cat. The attitude concerns me the most. I hope you Natasha haven’t applied for the same establishment as me. Trust is paramount and I wouldn’t trust you.

FWIW I agree with Cat's and Huntsman's comments.

I wholeheartedly agree with rehabilitation and believe people have the right, to some extent, to expunge their past.

However Natasha you are naive if you think not drinking for 12 months makes you recovered. You are, and will always remain an alcoholic. Your drink drive conviction is recent. You remain a few drinks from catastrophe and an easy target for blackmail.

Definitely continue your road to redemption but I don't think the Prison Service is an appropriate setting for you to do so.
Their poor attitude really says more about them than even their lack of basic literacy.

You’ve recieved a hostile welcome from people on this forum because of the way you’ve acted towards people Natasha. You take no responsibility for your behaviour and this is my main concern. If you aggravate prisoners the same way you’re aggravating everyone here then I really hope I never have to be put in a situation where I have to work with you.
