Physical training involved in POELT

Post by AndyK » Mon Nov 13, 2017 11:22 pm

I start my induction week on 15 Jan at HMP Risley then POELT at HMP WYMOTT. What physical training is involved i.e. runs, circuit training?. Are snt there any and its all class room based for 10 weeks?. Is passing physical test on RAD good enough?

I can't see it given the entry level of fitness is so low, I could be wrong though.

You have the CNR classes which will be physical, other than that it is up to you to maintain your fitness levels.
It’s too bad that stupidity isn’t painful. Ignorance is one thing, but our society thrives increasingly on stupidity

Start of vetting to the call 17 weeks 2 days.

There is no physical training involved in POELT, previously I trained as a Police Officer and we would do the bleep test every week to improve on our fitness and a 4 mile run every 2-3 weeks. At Newbold there is a gym that you can use in the evenings but no sessions as part of the training. It is up to each recruit to maintain their level of fitness.

Hi WJones19

You’ve posted on a 2 year old topic so may not get the right answers but from my experience you’re correct.

When I applied I had a phone call with an offer that was followed by all the vetting requests and lots of form filling. Once I had done this I checked the Application centre now and then and it changed as yours has, the next phone call I imagine you’ll receive will be talking about your notice period etc and offering a date, they’ll go through an outline of how your training will go and you’ll get it all confirmed in an email

Hope that helps :slbg:
