I will quickly say.... Falkor might message you as rule says you cant quote the message above :slbx:

But mine states underneath the salary and in the opening line of the overview that it is based on a 39 hour contract - when my contract come through it was 6000 off what was advertised until the establishment sent me a letter for the retention bonus and about the 39 hour contract

Edited : i ment to put 39 on my previous post

I have received a separate letter regarding an allowance but I wonder if it will be paid from day 1 or after Poelt ...

Thanks for letting me know. Can you start on a 41 hour week as a newbie and are night shift compulsory.

You can start on a 41 hour contract but you wont get paid 41hrs till after your poelt.

Night shifts are built into your shift profile and are one if the reasons we get 17% shift allowance. You can offer out your night shifts to other officers, plenty of officers are willing to do your nights dont worry.

I work in one of the listed prisons and we get £5000 bonus not £4000.

Do you reckon its better to opt for 37 hours then do extra PP as it will work out more £ per hour than doing just 41?

This is what I was wondering.

I am tempted by the higher contract hours, but if I can get PP I'd rather do that!

If you're in for the money, I'd say 41 hrs. It seems a lot but it's only 4 extra hours a week.

The way I see things, the pros and cons of doing 41 hours is:

Pros: The longer you work, the faster your experience grows, you get more money, you get better rapport with prisoners due to having more time to interact with them, others see you as an hard working individual and new oportunities to go higher might come faster.

Cons: You may have bad days that you wish you weren't doing extra time and more personal time
7 weeks to start :slyay:

Just keep in mind if you opt for 37 rather than 41 and make up the difference with PP then PP is not pensionable
