You will work alone but not alone on the wing.
You need to know where your team mates are.
You need a minimum of 3 officers actively on a wing to open up.
If your the ONLY officer on a wing then retreat to a place of safety.

Re: Second thoughts?
Poelt can be daunting.. All new stuff to learn.
Info overload....
Give It time.
Someone on my poelt course felt the same. She is now just out of probationary period and loves the job.
But if its not for you and you've given it a good go, then leave. It will mess with your head

Re: Overtime(PP)?
Always available. The amount is dependent on operational needs.
I do around 30 hours per month with no issues.
Extra shift here n there
I do a bedwatch here n there
And sometimes if something kicking off ill stop on .

Arrests with charges

Not necessarily.
Sia licensed does not mean vetting will be all good.
Sia is compliant with the rehabilitation of offenders act 1974.
Prison service is exempt from tho legislation

Re: are you going to set a New Year's Resolution?
I made a new years resolution in 2000
Not to make any more new years resolutions.
And I've stuck to it religiously!

Re: are we hourly paid or paid by a salary?
Everyone is on a 37 hour contract.
If your establishment runs a 39 or 41 hour profile and you want to do it you'll get a line on your payslip saying ACH. ( additional contrated hours) and paid accordingly

Re: We will call you shortly / vetting
It may be after Christmas as it is very near.
Have a chilled Xmas and then ,soon enough, you'll be in training and then you wont realise its Xmas 2018 and you'll nearly be out of probation... Time flies so take this Time to chill.
