Re: Private or public?

The private package is rubbish! The private sector wage shown is your wage! HMP goes up in increments annually! Public sector workers get a pretty decent pension, private is rubbish! Public prisons are safer an staff get ppe such as cuffs, baton and soon enough pava! Private get none of the above. P...

Re: New Starters pay

Hard to recruit bonus is paid from day one, what people are getting confused with is contracted hours. You will only be paid 37hrs for poelt and then you apply for your extra hours contract at the end i.e 39 or 41.

Re: Bag and equipment

Yep one holds your trousers up, the other you attach your equipment to it.

The trouser belt is just the same as you buy to wear with your suit, thin leather belt very cheap.

Viper utility belt is what you see police officers wearing to hold equipment in pouches.

Re: Tornado team

To join the national it would usually take longer than 5yrs. You need to have a lot of experience as a C&R commander and then a C&R instructor as well as also being tornado trained. To be a natiinal as well though its more of who you know than what you know. The nationals are very close knit teams. ...

As kiloren said some jails have a waiting list other cant get anyone on the list. Maybe you establishment would li...
