Re: Prison officer uniforms

Everything is supplied Daniel. This type of service would never take off for Prison Staff. It will be a non-runner and of no use to us.

Sorry.

Re: Best utility belt

There is no facility to claim this cost back. Viper are ok... they are not even close to being the best. You will find that Viper insist on stitching the rough side of Velcro all the way around the inside of the belt. Viper belts have really good, centre-lock buckles though. This will make a real me...

...be prepared that most of your shifts finish at 7:30 Maybe in your jail freak, but that's not the same everywhere... or even that common. I have no shifts that finish then. Mine are a mix of 13:00, 17:00 (and one that finishes at 18:00), 21:00 and Late shifts start at either 12:30 or 13:30. Each ...

Each way. It's actually taken from the guidelines for permanent transfers. Daily travel doesn't have any guidelines so they just use that guidance.

Re: Expenses during POELT.

make sure you minus your travel to establishment for example. swinfen to home 23 miles home to newbold 63 so miles i can claim would be 40 miles The requirement to deduct your normal Home to Work mileage was removed in 2004. You do not have to deduct this. Your claim should be for 63 miles. I would...

Re: should transgenders be Prison Officers in UK?

This is a ridiculous question and poll. What difference would it make who/how or what anyone is as long as they are good prison officers? What poll is next falk (as you appear to have recently discovered this feature), should people with red hair be allowed? This makes a mockery of these forums. NTK...

Re: Quick question

Don't. As soon as you get to your establishment (if not sooner), notify them of this potential conflict. Once this is done, and you've taken advice, and you're clear of training, then you could probably resume visiting your cousin - providing the arrangement is known and cleared prior. Bear in mind ...

Re: In news today

Kris, that's an impossible one for me answer I'm afraid. The current stats say that for every 100 new starters we get, roughly around 16 will still be in the job in 12 months time. So the answer to your last question is, I believe, around 16%... or 400... a 2100 loss. Factor in the retirements/sick ...

...the number of prison officers recruited was rising... OOOooooooo..... spin! Yes, number of prison officers recruited IS rising... but not fast or high enough to match the number that are leaving! As for the reason for the rise in those figures? Clearly I'm biased, but prisoners will tell you the...

IYKYK has it nailed... if you keep them on the phone, they can't do the rest of their job. Mr/Ms. Parsnip - you're more than welcome to give your opinion... regardless of how narrow your view is. I was simply pointing out why they may be short of staff. Your reply, I considered, was rude, inconsider...
