Re: Hello.. finally I’ve passed training!!

Oh right, that is slightly different then. I had to put what contract I wanted before I got it. I'm sure you'll get an opportunity to change. Wait until you get a contact at your prison. I had so many worries that weren't getting answered by the recruitment team but as soon as the poelt manager and ...

Re: Hello.. finally I’ve passed training!!

Where are you in the recruitment stage? You choose your contract just before the training starts. Your apprenticeship mentor contacts you with tonnes of info. At that stage you pick how many hours you want to do. I've got the pay scale table which is really handy. Again this gets sent before you sta...

Re: Hello.. finally I’ve passed training!!

Thats right, so during training you will be on 37hr + 17% unsocial which is £22,851 and then depending on your contracted hours it goes up after training. Most I guess go for 41 hour which is £25,385. This still goes up every september I believe. Firstly by 4.89% to £26,628 then by about 2% a year.

Anything you can share about it? Highlights, tips that sort of thing? Where did you do your training?

Re: Vetting Process

Just to discuss the start date mate. Did you get an email? In mine it actually said "this is not an interview, this is a call to discuss the start date"

Re: Functional skills on the new apprenticeship

Hi, When you got the phone call to sort out the date they should have asked do you have the right quals in maths and English. If you do, you just start with 2 weeks induction then 8 weeks training. You you don't they do 1 week English the week before and a week at the end of training for maths. This...

Carbon is right, current rules are, even if its someone you live with, you dont need to isolate unless you have symptoms yourself.

Re: Vetting Process

There really is no real time frame I'm afraid, some wait months some weeks. Mine was fairly quick, my pre-employment checks started on the 22nd April and I had the call about 6 weeks after that. Patience is key.

Re: 15 July HMP Leeds question about trip while the vetting process

Hey, don't worry about it. When they call you they'll go through the dates that work for you. It's not like they give you a date and you have to accept it or lose it. When I got the call they offered 3 different dates spanning over 2 months until we worked out one that suited me best.

Re: Vetting Process

She did say they may just put me on an OSG role til it's sorted which wouldn't be the worst thing (as long as I have a job lol) but couldn't guarantee it. Can't see them sending me packing. Very fast way to never see me again. 2nd of Aug mate. Need a few weeks for the misses to start a surrogacy jou...

Re: Vetting Process

Had my call last night, date booked but unfortunately feeling a bit deflated as there's some confusion around my GCSE certs. Can't believe you can get to this stage and it still be an issue. I have the statement of results and she was unsure whether that would be OK, she advised I just take them and...

Re: Apprenticeship English and Math Functional Skills

I need help guys please. Just had the call, start date sorted.
