Re: Expenses on POELT

I’m assuming you’ll book in the same way I did once you get into your establishment and get online etc. I only booked mine the week before last. You’re emailed a code which you put into the ticket machine and your debit/credit card (no charge as they’re paid for) for ID purposes. It will be interest...

Re: Shift Pattern

To be honest I don’t think it will help anyone more than the post above which is a past shift pattern.
I’m not going to be wing based so it’s not really a true reflection of a shift pattern for the majority 😊

Re: Facilities on newbold revel

We have had a few loud bedroom activities and boy, are those people embarrassed the next day. I did buy one of those little micro towels from Mountain warehouse just in case. I think Newbold is excellent in terms of how they look after you. Just remember, all the strangers you meet when you arrive w...

Re: Shift Pattern

I have my years worth of schedules but I’m mostly days with the odd evening (I’m not assigned to a wing though) so I won’t share, also as it’s a schedule coming up I won’t be sharing it lol

Re: Facilities on newbold revel

The bar gets pretty full but we take our drinks and sit in the blue room (for those that haven’t been, this will all become apparent when you get there and have your tour) On our landings there is a seating area in the middle and one by your kitchen and we all meet up for coffee in there or play car...

Re: Facilities on newbold revel

We are in Maples block at Newbold and there’s a washer in the 1’s kitchen and ironing on both landings. Perfectly adequate. We have towels provided for our rooms and my tv has some Freeview channels and the Wi-fi just about reaches. The kitchen has just had boilers fitted with a tap for brewing up s...

Re: Expenses on POELT

I booked my 8 weeks of return train tickets through Trips portal at my establishment and they emailed me the code to collect the tickets from my local train station. You don’t pay for your own and claim back when it’s public transport. I have also prebooked a return taxi from Rugby to NR and I did p...

Re: Conditional offer.

I congrats Evie, a weight off your mind. I also start on the apprenticeship on March 2nd. If you have your exam results to show you have a c or above in maths and English you won’t have to go to Newbold for weeks 3 & 4 and just done straight 4 weeks at your establishment before goi g off to trainin...

Re: Does Everyone Leave This Site After Recruitment?

I am doing the Apprenticeship as an early adopter and I found I was coming across too much negativity regarding the job and seeing comments that make you doubt yourself in making the right choice. For me, it was spoiling the excitement of starting the job and I stopped reading all forums and Faceboo...

Re: New training for POELT - apprenticeship

Thanks NOS, that’s really helpful. I’m excited and confused at the same time and the confusion is spoiling it. I wanted to set it all out and get on with it.

Let’s hope it all becomes clearer than mud soon :slbli:

Re: Newbold Revel 2020. HMP Stocken.

Oh no, from what I’ve read it’s not looking great. I wanted to do my POELT and get on with it. Don’t want to be wasting my free time writing essays and doing ridiculous paperwork for the sake of it. I passed my maths and English with high grades but in 1987 so I’ll have to redo them according to the...
