Re: Merit list North west

Oh yes, sounds like you are in very pleasant surroundings Rob, enjoy your weekend if you venture out. Social distancing will go right out the window in the local, smaller Social clubs round here. It’ll be virtually impossible to get into a gym for a couple of months, I’ve been doing a little Strowma...

Re: Merit list North west

That’s exactly what they are Rob....holes haha !! I did used to drink in various minging establishments during my younger days to be honest. Like I say, each to their own, if that’s what people want to do then go for it, just be safe and respect others.....which is not happening when people organise...

Re: Vetting questions

Gaboo, it’s a long story, but the short version is, the prison let me down big time as a new recruit, I was faced with huge unprofessionalism and zero empathy. Due to this and the uncertainty surrounding my start, I told them to withdraw me, however, later the same day, I got a phone call to say I h...

Re: Merit list North west

Each to their own, but going to the pub is the furthest thing from my mind !!

Especially round here, the area is full of scruffs and people who don’t wash on a regular basis as it is !! The peasants 🤣🤣🤣

Re: Quality of recruits nowadays

Anybody who doesn’t take the job seriously is in for a rough ride !

I’m flabbergasted to hear that some new recruits are behaving like Gaboo mentioned

Re: Vetting questions

Everything just ground to a halt, and the plan the service had in place has probably cost a few people a career as it simply was not feasible for some to do OSG. I started a new job this week, I was starting to get a panic on with the furlough scheme changing on August 1st, I can’t imagine many empl...

Re: Vetting questions

November 😬😬😬!!!

Should have bloody kept on training people locally where possible, scrapped all the residential training for the time being.

Various other people flouting lockdown without consequence and care, made a mockery of the whole thing.

Re: Merit list North west

When I was doing my ARC last year, I was with a lad just down the road from where I live, and he was there as his previous years results expired without being offered a position, he was going in for Wetherby as the Durham region prisons just weren’t recruiting many staff. I heard recently that he tu...

Re: Merit list North west

The recruitment for any prisons north of Manchester is chronic, there seems to be limited places which are snapped up pretty sharpish !

Must be a better quality workforce up north 😁
