Re: Age of applicants

Well I’m 40 next month and physically fitter and healthier then I’ve ever been. I train every morning at home at 5am, I’ve done Shaolin Boxing, I do pole fitness and MMA as well as the Toughmudder challenges. I definitely eat healthier then ever in my life and I’ve given the youngsters I work with i...

Re: Pilot RAD at Grendon in November

Fingers crossed that you’re vetting clears very soon for you!!! Like I said, once you’re cleared let me know and I’ll give you the number to call rather then waiting for their call. Hopefully you’ll end up on same course :slsm:

They may do same and offer you OSG as an interim role....

POELT Grendon 25/06/2018

Hi all, Got the call (albeit I called them and they called me back) last night. :slyay: First week at the Mount and then Grendon training from 2nd July. They offered me OSG post at The Mount starting on 30th April for the 8 weeks, on Prison Officer salary, which I’ve accepted. Anyone joining same po...

Re: Pilot RAD at Grendon in November

I am finally in vetting :slyay: . It took some time, a few calls and emails, but it is finally happening. Now I should probably get a big dose of patience, keep calm and carry on :slbli: Hi Narcisa, I had email from Pip (The Mount’s HR Officer) 2 weeks ago to let me know I’d passed the vetting and ...

Re: how should prisoners refer to you?

This has been an interesting thread to read :sloo: Personally, I feel that it’s really down to each individuals preference. I’ve worked for the last 9 years with young people and families in the community, in schools and in pupil referral units who have offended or at risk of offending. I’ve always ...

Re: Pilot RAD at Grendon in November

I am so glad Eva! We might do the POELT together by the looks of how fast this is going for me :slhehe: But we'll meet at the Mount! :slbg: Winkle250, call them I say. Could you? I am guessing you shouldn't call the Training team at Grendon, rather the SS recruitment services - they have some conta...

Re: Pilot RAD at Grendon in November

Hi Narcisa, I attended the pilot RAD at Grendon on second week of December (after failing first application round of RAD's in October at the medical). I passed all and was given provisional offer at my first choice on the day (also the Mount!), it took a day before my Steria account updated and allo...

Re: Prison job Promotion/Salaries

I was given a list of roles you could apply for when I went on my familiarisation visit at The Mount last October. I was advised you can apply for these after completing your one year probation service, these included; Senior Officer, Dog Handler, Personal Training Instructor and another that I cann...

Pilot Application Scheme

I previously applied back in October but unfortunately , after 3 attempts at medical I was failed due to blood pressure. RAD Manager told me to reapply under the new scheme which I did and, fortunately after second medical attempt I managed to control my white coat hypertension and got through (2 we...
