Re: Prison Officer UK Forum

Seems strange. Over a year of inactivity, you couldn’t even log in. Now, suddenly there’s users on there but nothing about the forum being taken over or any explanation about what happened 🤔.

Re: Why do you think most recruits stop posting once they start their job?

My take on this is that when people are in the recruitment process, they tend to have a lot of unanswered questions. As the forum is a hive of past and present knowledge, it gives answers to most of those questions and there are people who can relate as they’re in the same boat. Now, when someone is...

Cheers Bearguy. Just so I have an idea of how long the wait may take rather than checking every 10 minutes.

Re: still waiting on ARC results

Quick question- how soon after completing Arctic Shores did you find out whether you’d made it to the next stage?

Re: Neil Samworth Podcast

I watched something recently where he was answering questions from that Cody Lachey (ex prisoner). He always seems to offer a fair and honest assessment of life behind the walls. I’ll give the podcast whirl.

Re: Neil Samworth Podcast

Personally, I thought the book was a good read. One sided, maybe, but he’s only sharing his story and his own experiences as an officer. His experiences and feelings towards the service will differ from others, but I’d happily read anyone’s story to gain their insight.

Re: Salary query

I believe the £19531 is the base pay, the £22293 is inclusive of unsociable hours. The £22293 is based on a 37 hour week, which is what you are paid for during poelt. Once you go live you’ll have the option of working 37/39/41 hours and your salary will change should you choose to increase your hours.

Happy New Year!

Wishing everyone on the site all the very best for the year ahead. Hope you all get to where you want to be and fingers crossed we’ll see the back of the virus and these wretched lockdowns.

Take care

Yeah, I gathered that when you mentioned your dads old jail is one of only a few with a functional watering hole (Tythe Barn) in a post a while back. Believe it’s the only one in the country these days, that’s what we were told on poelt anyway.
